This map explores some of the foods and drinks associated with Czechia, the Czech Republic. It was part of my project to try and eat my way around the world country by country.
The print is based on a hand painted version of the map that I’ve made over the last number of years. Because the maps were originally hand painted and not computer generated you might notice some things are slightly ‘scruffy’. I’m sort of after that aesthetic and look in my work,
I want to show or prove that I spent hours making it, the handmade aspect of things is really important to me.
On the other hand I try not to make spelling mistakes but sometimes do! So if you spot something wrong let me know and I’ll try to rectify it.
Some more information about the print.
To keep the colours bright and vibrant I use a luster|semi-gloss photo paper but if you would prefer the print on a matte style paper instead let me know and I can print it that way for you instead.
If you live in the Republic of Ireland I will print any 10 x 8 in prints at home and post them.
This reduces delivery time to couple of days and keeps the cost down. Occasionally I may need to be away from my house on trips so on those occasions I’ll use a print-on-demand company, which will take a few days longer to arrive as they are based in the EU.
Similarly if you buy a 16 x 20 inch print I will fulfill your order with a print on demand company as my printer can’t print something that big.
If you live internationally I will use a print-on-demand company to print your artwork.
The main reason for this is to avoid tariffs, custom delays, packaging regulations, to be able to provide a tracking number, to reduce delivery times and postage cost and to reduce the environmental impact.
The company may post your print rolled up in a postal tube depending on your location.
Due to differences in screen settings etc the colour of the actual print may vary slightly from what you see on your screen.
Frame not included.
Thanks for having a look!
