A map of Inis Mór, or Árainn the largest and most westerly of the Aran Islands.
It measures 50 x 70cm (~20 x 28in) and has been painted with acrylic paints and ink on gessoed acid free paper.
I took the notes for this map in June ’23 while cycling around the island for a few days. Such a magical place! Especially after the ferry had taken day trippers back to the mainland.
When I got home I painted this first version of the map.
